Position: Product Development & Sourcer Merchandiser - Menswear Apparel

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced sourcing professional to manage fabric sourcing, trims procurement, vendor development, costing support, and manufacturing partner management for apparel production. The candidate will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating costs, ensuring quality standards, and supporting timely execution from development to bulk production.

Key Responsibilities

Source and develop fabrics, trims, packaging materials, and garment manufacturing vendors as per seasonal and business requirements.

Build and maintain a strong network of mills, fabric suppliers, trim suppliers, printers, embroiderers, and garment manufacturers.

Conduct vendor evaluation based on quality, capacity, compliance, pricing, and lead times.

Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, MOQ, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.

Obtain and compare quotations to achieve target costing and margin objectives.

Coordinate with design, product development, merchandising, and production teams for sourcing requirements.

Manage fabric and trim developments including lab dips, strike-offs, sampling, and approvals.

Track raw material and production timelines to ensure on-time deliveries.

Resolve supplier-related issues involving quality, delays, shortages, and commercial disputes.

Develop alternate supplier sources to reduce risk and improve cost efficiency.

Monitor market trends, fabric innovations, sustainable materials, and sourcing opportunities.

Maintain sourcing database, supplier performance records, and cost benchmarking reports.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Technology, Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, or related field.

Minimum 7-10 years of experience in fabric sourcing, trims sourcing, vendor development, or apparel procurement.

Strong knowledge of knitted and woven fabrics, garment construction, trims, printing, embroidery, and wash processes.

Good understanding of costing, consumption, production planning, and supply chain management.

Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and sourcing-related reporting.

Preferred Experience

Experience sourcing for men’s apparel categories such as T-shirts, polos, shirts, hoodies, joggers, cargos, and coordinates is preferred

Existing network of fabric mills, trim suppliers, and garment manufacturers across India.

Experience working with export house, buying house, fashion, D2C, streetwear, or lifestyle brands.
