We're looking for a Product Manager, Product Analytics & Experimentation to help TEGNA measure, learn from, and continuously improve our digital products. This role sits at the intersection of product analytics and experimentation, partnering with Product Managers to transform customer behavior into actionable insights that improve our websites, mobile apps, notifications, and personalization capabilities.
You'll help evolve TEGNA's analytics and experimentation capabilities, enabling product teams to measure outcomes, validate hypotheses, and make confident, data-informed decisions throughout the product lifecycle. Working across Product, Engineering, Design, Data, QA, and Editorial, you'll help build a culture where analytics and experimentation are integral to how we discover, deliver, and continuously improve our products.
Who You Are
You are passionate about understanding customer behavior and using data to improve products. You enjoy digging into analytics, identifying opportunities, designing experiments, and translating complex findings into practical recommendations.
You're equally comfortable partnering with Product Managers to define success metrics, collaborating with Engineering on instrumentation requirements, working with Data teams to ensure analytics quality, partnering with UX Research and Design to better understand customer behavior, building dashboards, and helping stakeholders interpret the impact of new features, experiments, and customer journeys.
You have a strong analytical mindset but understand that data is only valuable when it leads to better decisions. You're curious, collaborative, and eager to develop expertise in product analytics and experimentation while helping teams build better products.

Scope of Responsibility
Partner with Product Managers across TEGNA's Consumer Products organization to define success metrics, measure product performance, identify opportunities, and support experimentation initiatives.
Help evolve TEGNA's analytics and experimentation capabilities by establishing best practices for instrumentation, dashboard development, experimentation, and product analysis.
Support product teams throughout the product lifecycle by helping define measurement plans, analyze product performance, and communicate actionable insights that improve customer outcomes.
Top Key Activities
Product Analytics - Partner with Product Managers to define success metrics, develop dashboards, analyze customer behavior, and identify opportunities to improve product performance.
Analytics Enablement - Develop dashboards, reports, and reusable measurement frameworks that make product performance visible and actionable across the organization.
Instrumentation - Partner with Product Managers and Engineering to define analytics requirements, document event tracking, validate instrumentation, and improve the consistency and quality of product data.
Product Analysis - Analyze product performance, feature adoption, customer journeys, conversion funnels, engagement trends, and experiment results to generate actionable recommendations.
Experimentation - Support the design, execution, and measurement of A/B tests and feature rollouts, partnering with product teams to validate hypotheses and measure customer impact.
Communications - Present dashboards, findings, experiment results, and recommendations to product teams and stakeholders through clear written and verbal communication.
Domain Acumen
Experience working with digital product analytics platforms such as Amplitude (preferred) or Google Analytics.
Experience supporting A/B testing, experimentation, feature flagging, or progressive delivery using LaunchDarkly or similar platforms.
Strong understanding of product metrics including adoption, engagement, retention, conversion, funnels, and customer behavior analysis.
Experience partnering with Engineering to define or validate analytics instrumentation.
Ability to translate business questions into meaningful product insights.
Strong understanding of agile software development and how analytics supports continuous product improvement.
Experience with SQL, visualization tools, or business intelligence platforms is a plus.
Experience with digital media, publishing, consumer products, or content platforms is desirable.
Key Professional Traits and Requirements
2-5 years of experience in Product Analytics, Digital Analytics, Product Management, Business Analysis, or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience partnering with Product Managers and Engineering teams
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills
Comfortable collaborating across Product, Design, Engineering, QA, Data, and Editorial teams
Data-informed decision maker with experience measuring product outcomes
Curious, collaborative, and eager to learn
Strong sense of ownership and accountability
Comfortable working in fast-paced, iterative environments
Tools
Deep knowledge and proficiency with the following:
Analytics: Amplitude or equivalent
Experimentation: LaunchDarkly or equivalent
Atlassian products: Jira, Jira Product Discovery, Confluence
Visualization: Tableau, Power BI, Looker Studio, or equivalent
