Job Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator at The Fischer Group supports the Supply Chain Team by coordinating purchasing information and processes that help ensure materials and labor reach Fischer Homes job sites accurately and on time. In this role, you will help maintain purchase orders, vendor and pricing records, and trade partner capacity information for the divisions you support. Your attention to detail and follow-through will help keep purchasing activities organized and give internal teams and trade partners the information they need.

Take a detail-focused approach to maintaining purchasing, vendor, pricing, and payment information.

Communicate clearly and professionally with trade partners and internal partners across field management, estimating, accounting, and purchasing.

Investigate questions using available information and help identify practical, solution-focused next steps.

Stay organized while managing recurring reports, administrative work, and requests that vary by task and timing.

Use sound judgment, discretion, and confidentiality when handling work-related information.

Work comfortably with office productivity applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or Google equivalents.

These skills will be used to:

Support Senior and Lead Purchasing Coordinators with assigned tasks and provide administrative support to the Supply Chain Team.

Coordinate communication among trade partners, field managers, estimating, and accounting for one or more supported divisions.

Create purchase orders as requested by the Purchasing Manager and maintain standard vendor lists for supported communities.

Enter and maintain vendor pricing, create relevant bid items, and complete other ERP-related tasks.

Help Purchasing Managers keep trade partner capacity information accurate in relevant systems.

Research purchase order and payment information and distribute reports on weekly, monthly, quarterly, or annual schedules, as required.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate or bachelor’s degree.

Experience in the homebuilding industry.

Experience in a role with purchasing- or procurement-related responsibilities.

Physical demands and work environment:

Must be able to use sensory skills (i.e. verbal communication) to effectively communicate and interact with other Associates and customers.

Must be able to perform repetitive motions and use fine motor skills (i.e. typing, writing) to operate office supplies (i.e. computer, calculator, copier).

Must be able to lift and carry approximately 20-25lbs unassisted.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time with low periods of reaching and standing.
