Job Summary

The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for processing, tracking, and administrative duties pertaining to inbound and outbound purchases within the International Purchasing Department. Works closely with buyers and mills, along with other internal teams to ensure smooth communication, accurate order processing, and exceptional service. May also have direct customer contact to assist in resolving issues and driving sales opportunities.

Principle Duties and Responsibilities

  • PO creation and processing of documentation and payables
  • Assists buyers in the tracking and tracing of orders
  • Maintains frequent communication with suppliers/providers to ensure efficiencies in information gathering
  • Assists in developing reports and compiling market information for trades
  • Assists in processing reports, documents, and purchases in a timely manner
  • Assists in cost/rate retrieval for international freight lanes
  • Works with all internal teams to successfully deliver international documentation for all orders
  • Collaborates across departments including sales, logistics and purchasing
  • Assists in assigned special projects
  • Contributes to team success by meeting individual goals and supporting team objectives
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associate's degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • 2 years+ of experience, preferably in supply chain or procurement
  • Possesses beginning to working knowledge of subject matter
  • Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business-related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of various office equipment (computer, scanner, etc)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask and work independently in a fast-paced setting
  • Spanish speaking required
