QA & Test Automation Engineer, Valeo Service

Responsibilities

In a technical/hands-on role, you’ll be asked to implement and execute test plans with autonomy, improve overall QA knowledge of the technical team and share technical trends and best practices. You will also help define the direction and drive accountability for quality.

• •Develop test strategy and test plans for projects
• •Define automation strategy for regression, release, etc.
• •Designing, coding and documenting automated test cases to ensure the quality of our product.
• •Perform a qualitative analysis of our automated functional test to ensure that coverage is sufficient
• •Defining the scope of testing within the context of every release and every software testing level or cycle
• •The use of resources in an effective way and managing the resources for software testing
• •Applying the appropriate test measurement and metrics for the software product and testing team
• •Specifying, designing, implementing and testing automation framework
• •Define best practices for QA & test automation activity and work with teams to ensure their work aligns with best practices
• •Analyzing existing systems to find areas for improvement.
• •Evaluate new test tools and strategies and make recommendations to the team
• •Drive initiatives that improve service quality and resiliency
• •Monitor product quality health metrics on a daily basis and work with managers to drive ongoing improvements in product quality
• •Monitor the ongoing health of our test automation, ensure that tests run reliably, with good performance
• •Define and implement a process that ensures appropriate test cases are defined for all new features and that test suites are updated for all new features.
• •AI maturity: AI Practitioner — applies AI to improve everyday QA activities.
• •Applies AI tools to improve test design, automation development, API testing, and defect analysis.
• •Creates effective prompts and reusable AI-assisted testing workflows.
• •Uses AI to generate and enhance test cases, test data, automation scripts, and test scenarios, with human validation.
• •Contributes ideas for automating repetitive QA activities using AI/agentic workflows.

Education/Training

Bachelor or Masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical field

Professional Experience

The candidate should have proven professional experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation and will be responsible for independently contributing to the quality of our digital products, driving effective testing and automation practices, and supporting continuous quality improvement. The candidate should have the following qualifications:

• •Good experience working with test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, Cucumber, Jest, Robot, or similar tools and developing maintainable test automation scripts.
• •Good experience in designing, developing, and maintaining UI automation tests.
• •Very good experience with web debugging and profiling tools such as Chrome DevTools, Firefox Developer Tools, and similar tools.
• •Good experience working with RESTful APIs and designing and implementing API tests.
• •Proficient in writing detailed test scenarios, test cases, and test plans, with the ability to perform effective manual testing when required to support automation.
• •Good Frontend and Backend testing experience across multiple platforms and technologies, including Web Applications, Mobile Applications, and Microservices.
• •Very good experience with Git, including branching, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development practices.
• •Proficient understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and the role of Quality Engineering within Agile delivery teams.
• •Experience with CI/CD tools and automating build processes, application deployments, and automated test execution within continuous integration pipelines.
• •Ability to analyze test failures, investigate defects, and collaborate effectively with developers and other stakeholders to identify root causes.
• •Experience using AI-assisted tools to improve test design, test case generation, test data preparation, automation development, debugging, documentation, and test analysis.
• •Understanding of AI agents and Agentic AI workflows, with the ability to use existing AI-powered solutions to support and improve QA activities.
• •Ability to identify opportunities for automation, AI adoption, and process improvement within the QA lifecycle.
• •Quality Assurance certification is preferred, such as ISTQB Foundation Level or ISTQB Agile Tester.
• •Result-oriented mindset with a strong focus on product quality and improving the customer experience.
• •Strong sense of business impact, with awareness of quality, delivery timelines, and time-to-market.
• •Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional Agile teams.
