We're looking for a strategic, creative, and highly collaborative Content Marketing Strategist to help shape Elastic’s Public Sector story. The role will focus on Federal Civilian, Defense, State and Local Government, Higher Education, and other Public Sector segments. Working across marketing, sales, communications, and customer success, you'll lead impactful storytelling across multiple channels. You'll translate complex technology into clear value propositions, engage senior decision-makers, and support our broader global business priorities.
What You Will Be Doing
Content Strategy
Build scalable content plans aligned to Global Public Sector priorities, business objectives, and audience needs.
Create content across the full buyer journey (from awareness to consideration and decision-stage), ensuring every asset has a clear audience, compelling point of view, and defined objective.
Track public sector trends, procurement dynamics, compliance and security requirements (e.g., FedRAMP, OMB 26-14, state and local regulations), and the competitive landscape.
Content Creation & Storytelling
Lead the creation of high-impact content, including solution briefs, whitepapers, executive narratives, website copy, email campaigns, video scripts etc.
Review and elevate content developed by internal teams, partners, and external agencies, ensuring clarity, consistency, and impact.
Build customer references and case studies that demonstrate tangible outcomes for public sector organizations and the communities they serve.
Connect technical capabilities to customer challenges, mission priorities, and measurable business outcomes, adapting messaging to technical and executive audiences.
Go-To-Market Strategy & Field Enablement
Partner closely with Product Marketing, Campaigns, Solution Architects, Sales, and field teams to identify content opportunities and support go-to-market initiatives.
Stay connected to the field to understand customer needs, market challenges, competitive dynamics, and feedback, translating insights into relevant and actionable content.
Develop sales enablement materials, including presentations, messaging frameworks, and customer-facing content.
Measure content engagement and performance, using performance insights and field feedback to continuously optimize content and maximize business impact.
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in the technology industry, developing content or marketing initiatives for Public Sector audiences (Federal, State and Local Government, Higher Education, or related markets)
Extraordinary writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into compelling content that engages audiences and drives action.
A track record for turning content into measurable business results.
Proven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams, with strong project management and organizational skills.
An initiative-taking, ownership-driven, and team-first mentality, with the ability to identify opportunities, take action, and solve problems autonomously.
BONUS POINT: Advanced expertise with SEO, content optimization, and emerging LLM visibility strategies (GEO).
BONUS POINT: Familiarity with Zero Trust, cloud modernization, AI/ML in government, and cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST and CMMC.
BONUS POINT: Experience with design and visual content creation tools.
