The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Risk & Compliance Assurance Manager on an 18 Month Max Term contract to lead the delivery of Crown Melbourne’s Second Line assurance function. Reporting to the Head of Risk / General Manager, Compliance & Regulatory Affairs, you’ll assess the design and operating effectiveness of controls across all business units, deliver thematic reviews and provide independent assurance opinions that strengthen our control environment. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys digging into the detail, challenging the status quo and partnering with the business to fix what matters.

What You'll Do

Manage risk and compliance assurance activity across all Crown Melbourne business units in line with the Crown Melbourne Assurance Plan

Plan and execute controls testing to assess design effectiveness (DE) and operating effectiveness (OE) of key risk and compliance controls

Lead thematic reviews in response to external enquiries, commissioned reviews, breaches, events or identified control weaknesses

Document findings, deliver clear assurance opinions and produce timely reports for stakeholders and governance forums

Lead Second Line oversight of the First Line control self-assessment process

Work with business and functional management to ensure control design or operating weaknesses are remediated effectively

What You'll Bring

5+ years’ experience in risk management, compliance, assurance or internal/external audit within an ASX-listed or large, regulated organisation

Demonstrated experience in controls testing, including assessing design and operating effectiveness against a controls standard or framework

Strong understanding of the Three Lines model and how Second Line assurance complements First and Third Line activities

Highly analytical with strong attention to detail and the confidence to provide constructive challenge to senior stakeholders

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing reports and presentations for Executive and Board audiences using Microsoft Office

Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Law (desirable), casino or gaming industry experience (highly regarded), and the ability to obtain a VGCCC Casino Special Employee Licence
