Summary of Job Duties:

The Registered Nurse (RN) for the Behavioral Health Service Line (BHSL) Interventional Psychiatry Hospital-Based Outpatient Department is responsible for a broad range of activities that are critical to the functioning of the services.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

• •Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an Associate's Degree in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Master's Degree in Nursing
• •Minimum 1 year of Registered Nurse experience
• •Current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Arkansas
• •Excellent communication skills, basic computer skills, strong work ethic, and accountability

Preferred Qualifications:

• •2 or more years of Registered Nurse experience
• •Current BLS

• •The RN will consistently provide effective direct care to a variety of patients, work as part of the interdisciplinary team, based on licensure, title, and competencies.
• •The RN seeks, as well as provides, feedback for improved clinical practice.
• •The RN integrates theory and research into clinical practice.
• •The RN works under the direct supervision of the CSM.
• •Collects and documents assessment data.
• •Develops a Plan of Care (POC) per standard.
• •Implements POC including medical order and interdisciplinary approach.
• •Evaluates the progress of patient toward attainment of desired outcomes.
• •Provides effective patient/family education/discharge planning.

Employee must successfully complete a UAMS-sponsored conflict management training to identify, prevent, and mitigate disruptive behaviors using methods such as non-escalation, de-escalation, personal protection from physical assaults, and physical alternatives within six months of hire.

The BHSL Interventional Psychiatry Hospital-Based Outpatient Department is located in the Psychiatric Research Institute building on the main UAMS campus.
