Job Description:
Senior Business Systems Analyst (Treasury Technology)
CUSTOMER
- Leverage specialized domain, product, and systems knowledge to have a thorough understanding of the business, product, and vision; provide business-technology interaction subject matter expertise as well as recognize and drive the focus toward business value.
- Identify, document, and validate current state technology capabilities/ecosystem and support stakeholders to design the desired future state; provide recommendations and/or direction based on the end-to-end customer experience when making decisions.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to determine solutions, assess impact to existing work processes and systems, and how to manage the integration
- Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications taking into account non-functional requirements
- Own and manage the traceability of system requirements through design and development, testing, and deployment; ensure the acceptance criteria demonstrates the changes to systems that will meet stakeholder expectations.
- Support testing teams in translating requirements and use cases into test conditions and expected results for product, performance, user acceptance, and operational acceptance testing
- Provides support/oversight and guidance in the delivery of technology requirements with focus on quality, reusability, scalability, and innovation.
- Promote innovation by applying subject matter expertise to generate forward-thinking ideas as well as critical thinking to find opportunities for improvement
- Provide operational / process-related analysis and support to various extents
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document requirements.
- Create business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents.
- Analyze complex data sets to support business decision-making and solution design.
- Perform impact assessments, root cause investigations, and data reconciliation activities.
- Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, test cases, and support UAT activities.
- Work closely with development and QA teams throughout the SDLC and STLC.
- Analyze upstream and downstream data flows and document end-to-end lineage.
- Support Agile delivery processes including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and requirements management.
- Leverage AI-enabled tools and Copilot capabilities to improve productivity, analysis, testing, and documentation quality.
Must-Have Skills
- Treasury, Market Risk or Funds Transfer Pricing exp.
- Business Systems Analysis
- Strong data Analysis using SQL
- Solid experience in Agile Delivery and in SDLC / STLC
- Experience creating test Strategy & test Planning
- Experience using Microsoft Copilot or AI agents within delivery teams.
- Jira, Confluence
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
- CFA, FRM, MBA, MFin, CBAP, PMI-PBA, or related certifications are considered an asset.
Experience
- 5+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience within Banking or Financial Services.
- Strong foundational knowledge of Treasury, Market Risk, Capital Markets, Liquidity Risk, or Finance.
- Experience supporting large-scale data and technology transformation initiatives.
- Advanced SQL skills and ability to independently analyze large datasets.
- Proven experience with:
- Data analysis and attribution
- Data mapping and reconciliation
- Source-to-target mapping
- Data lineage and root cause analysis
- Requirements elicitation and documentation
- 5+ years of Agile delivery experience.
- Experience supporting Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC).
- Hands-on experience with test planning, test case creation, UAT, defect management, and regression testing.
- Experience using Jira, Confluence, Visio, and related delivery tools.
- Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, AI-assisted analysis, automation tools, or AI agents is an asset.
