Role Overview

ButterflyMX is seeking a Sr. Technical Program Manager, Hardware to drive connected-hardware programs from planning through validation, manufacturing, launch, and post-launch improvement. Reporting into Product and working on site with Hardware Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations, you will build a detailed understanding of each program, create clear accountability, surface risks early, and persistently drive work to completion.

You will also help shape and strengthen ButterflyMX’s hardware program-management discipline, including the tools, processes, and operating rhythms that support consistent execution. This role is ideal for someone who is highly persistent, energized by building and improving how teams work, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and skilled at turning complex cross-functional work into clear plans, decisions, owners, and next steps.

Responsibilities

Drive integrated program execution from requirements and prototyping through EVT/DVT/PVT, manufacturing readiness, launch, and post-launch follow-through.

Build a strong working knowledge of product requirements, hardware design, firmware and software dependencies, validation, manufacturing, suppliers, and unresolved technical decisions.

Relentlessly follow up on commitments, identify stalled work or unclear ownership, remove roadblocks by working directly with cross-functional partners and leadership, hold teams and partners accountable, drive decisions and issues to closure, and escalate risks early with clear options, implications, and recommended actions.

Maintain a single source of truth for scope, schedules, milestones, owners, dependencies, risks, decisions, changes, and launch readiness.

Coordinate execution across Product, Engineering, Design, Validation, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Support, and external partners.

Coordinate prototype and production builds, including design, BOM, materials, suppliers, software, firmware, testing, defects, quality gates, and operational handoffs.

Improve program tools, processes, reporting, meeting cadences, and cross-functional handoffs to increase speed, accountability, and predictability.

Requirements

7-10 years of technical program management or related experience supporting complex hardware or connected-device programs.

Experience helping deliver at least two hardware programs through development, validation, manufacturing readiness, and launch.

Strong technical aptitude across mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, validation, manufacturing, and supply-chain dependencies.

Experience managing schedules, critical paths, RAID and decision logs, action trackers, change control, and multiple workstreams.

Experience coordinating prototype or production builds, supplier deliverables, material readiness, testing, defect resolution, and manufacturing handoffs.

Persistent follow-through, strong documentation, and the confidence to challenge unclear status, drive closure, and escalate risks early.

Clear written and verbal communication skills, including concise program updates, decision documents, and executive escalations.

Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve productivity, analysis, documentation, or communication.

Experience with contract manufacturers, ODMs, or international suppliers is preferred, not required

Experience in IoT, access control, security, networking, or proptech is preferred, not required

Bachelors Degree required - engineering or other technical degree is preferred
