Staff Accountant

Description

Myers Park Country Club is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to play an integral role on the accounting team. Myers Park Country Club is one of the premier family clubs in the Charlotte area and can provide an elevated environment for accounting professionals seeking opportunities in private business . The Staff Accountant is responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable and will work closely with department managers to ensure the Club’s payments are made in an accurate and timely manner. This position is also responsible for the club-wide purchase card program as well as reconciliation of Inventory to the general ledger. The Staff Accountant will also perform a variety of other accounting duties and serve as a backup to other team members as needed. Customer Service, problem solving, initiative, dependability, professionalism, confidentiality, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are required for this position.

Requirements

• •Responsible for all aspects of Accounts Payable: coding, routing and paying invoices through our AP automation system. This includes managing users and creating a workflow to ensure all invoices have proper approvals.
• •Responsible for club-wide purchase card program and monthly posting of all transactions.
• •Monthly reconciliation of Golf Shop, Racquets Pro Shop, Golf Chemical, and Food inventory to GL. Calculating Cost of Goods Sold.
• •Prepare reports and supporting Documents for management as needed.
• •Assist with the annual audit and the 990 filing.
• •Crosstrain on and collaborate with other accounting functions and assist with other duties as assigned.
• •Maintain a warm professional presence and be a team player.
• •Be willing to go above and beyond to accommodate team members and Club members.

Qualifications

• •Two-Year Degree or equivalent business experience.
• •3 years of General Accounts Payable experience including reconciliations and journal entries.
• •Proficiency in Excel as well as familiarity with ERP systems and Accounts Payable automation software. Power BI a plus.
• •Superior professionalism, organization and communication skills are required.
• •The candidate must pass a pre-employment background investigation and a credit check.

• •Sedentary office work environment with occasional standing and walking.
• •Regularly lift, move, and/or carry up to ten (10) pounds.
• •Operate standard office equipment.
• •Perform occasional physical movements such as pushing, pulling, kneeling and reaching.
