You’ve built a career caring for patients. What if you could build a practice around how you want to care for them?

Kinstead helps experienced Nurse Practitioners across Connecticut open independent practices of their own, without having to figure out every part of starting a business by themselves.

This isn’t a traditional NP job. You’ll own your practice, choose who you want to serve, and decide how you want your workweek to look. Kinstead helps put the infrastructure in place to make it possible.

Create a practice that fits your life

Maybe you want longer visits and more time with patients. Maybe you want greater flexibility in your schedule, more control over what you earn, or the chance to finally build something of your own.

You also don’t have to make a huge career change overnight.

Many NPs get started with just a few hours a week while keeping their current role. From there, you can grow your practice at the pace that feels right for you.

It can stay a part-time practice, or grow into your full-time work. What matters is building something that works for you and the community you want to care for.

Focus on your patients. We’ll help with what happens behind the scenes.

There’s a lot that goes into running a practice beyond providing great care. Kinstead supports you with the business and operational pieces, including:

Insurance credentialing and payer contracting

Billing, coding, and revenue cycle management

EHR and technology

Scheduling and patient intake

A virtual front desk with real humans answering patient calls

Business setup, legal, and compliance support

Website and marketing support

Tools and support to help you grow your patient panel

You know how to care for patients and understand the needs of your community. We help you build the practice around that.

It may take less to get started than you think

You don’t need hundreds of patients on day one. Most practices can cover their basic costs with fewer than 3 patient visits per month, and startup costs are typically less than $3,000.

As your practice grows, NPs typically take home around $100–$150 per clinical hour , with the potential to earn around $250,000 annually in a full-time practice .

More than 50 Nurse Practitioners have already worked with Kinstead to launch and grow practices of their own.

Who this is for

This could be a good fit if you:

Are an experienced FNP, PMHNP, or other Nurse Practitioner

Hold an active Connecticut NP license and meet the state’s requirements for independent practice

Have several years of experience caring for patients

Have strong ties to the community you hope to serve

Have considered starting your own practice, even if you’re not sure what the first step looks like

Want more control over how you practice, who you care for, and how you structure your time

You don’t need to come to us with a business plan. You don’t need to understand credentialing, billing, or practice operations. And you definitely don’t need to quit your current job to explore the idea.

If having a practice of your own has been in the back of your mind, we’d love to talk. We can walk you through what getting started could actually look like for you.
