the posting

You’ve dedicated years to caring for patients. What if you could build a practice that reflects how you want to care for them?

Kinstead helps experienced Nurse Practitioners across Maryland open independent practices of their own, with the support to make the process easier and more manageable.

This isn’t a traditional NP job. You’ll own your practice, choose the patients you want to serve, and have control over your schedule. We’ll help put the infrastructure in place so you can focus on providing care.

Create a practice that fits your life

Maybe you want more time with each patient. Maybe you're looking for greater flexibility, more control over your earnings, or the opportunity to finally build something of your own.

And getting started doesn't mean you have to leave your current job.

Many NPs start with just a few hours a week while continuing to work elsewhere. From there, you can grow your practice at a pace that feels right for you.

Your practice could remain part-time or eventually become your full-time career. The idea is to create something that works for your lifestyle, your professional goals, and the community you want to serve.

Focus on patient care. We’ll help with the rest.

Running your own practice involves much more than seeing patients. Kinstead supports you with the business and operational work behind the scenes, including:

Insurance credentialing and payer contracting

Billing, coding, and revenue cycle management

EHR and technology

Scheduling and patient intake

A virtual front desk with real humans answering patient calls

Business setup, legal, and compliance support

Website and marketing support

Tools and support to help you grow your patient panel

You bring your clinical expertise and understanding of your community. We help you build a practice around it.

Getting started may be simpler than you expect

You don't need a large patient panel from day one. Most practices can cover their basic costs with fewer than 3 patient visits per month, and startup costs are typically less than $3,000.

As your practice grows, NPs typically take home around $100–$150 per clinical hour , with the potential to earn around $250,000 annually in a full-time practice .

More than 50 Nurse Practitioners have already partnered with Kinstead to launch and grow independent practices of their own.

Who we're looking for

This could be a good fit if you:

Are an experienced FNP, PMHNP, or other Nurse Practitioner

Hold an active Maryland NP license and meet the state’s requirements for independent practice

Have several years of experience caring for patients

Have strong connections to the community you hope to serve

Have considered opening your own practice, even if you're unsure where to start

Want more control over how you care for patients and how you organize your work

You don't need to come in with a business plan. You don't need to understand the ins and outs of credentialing or billing. And you don't need to quit your current job to explore the opportunity.

If owning your own practice is something you've been considering, we'd love to connect and walk you through what getting started with Kinstead could look like for you.
