More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you to light the way as a Systems Engineer in Milano, Italy with Signify.

• •Reviews and validates control design, schematics and technical documentation delivered by Technical Designers, ensuring feasibility and alignment with project requirements.
• •Acts as technical lead during project execution , supporting Project Managers and ensuring a smooth transition from design to commissioning.
• •Defines and drives the commissioning strategy per project , deciding the optimal execution model (internal vs Commissioning Partners vs CSIs).
• •Prepares and oversees startup and commissioning plans , integrating all technical disciplines and stakeholders.
• •Performs and/or supervises remote and on-site commissioning activities , ensuring quality, timelines and customer satisfaction.
• •Leads and coordinates Commissioning Partners (CPs) and subcontractors, including task allocation, technical guidance, performance follow-up and quality control.
• •Provides technical support and enablement to CSIs (Certified System Integrators) , contributing to their development and ensuring consistent execution standards.
• •Monitors system performance, ensuring alignment with specifications, budget and project targets.
• •Ensures proper testing, validation and system handover , including documentation completeness and quality.
• •Drives resolution of technical issues, punch list items and risks, ensuring timely project closure.
• •Contributes to continuous improvement , sharing lessons learned and supporting standardization across projects and regions.
• •Provides technical expertise for customer interactions, demonstrations and troubleshooting when required.

More about you

• •Strong technical knowledge of lighting control systems and system integration (e.g. connected lighting, building management systems, networking basics).
• •Proven experience in system commissioning and technical project execution, including on-site activities.
• •Ability to define and lead commissioning strategies, balancing internal execution, Commissioning Partners and CSIs.
• •Experience in coordinating and managing third parties (subcontractors, partners or external resources).
• •Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to align Sales, Project Management, Technical Design and external partners.
• •Solid problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage technical issues under pressure and drive resolution.
• •Experience working in international and multi-project environments.
• •High level of ownership and accountability for project delivery, timelines and quality.
• •Ability to translate technical concepts into clear actions for different stakeholders (technical and non-technical).
• •Willingness to travel for on-site commissioning activities when required.
