Job Description:

AI initiatives and innovation

• •Research and trial AI tools for IT operations (AIOps), such as log analysis, anomaly detection, alert triage and root-cause support.
• •Build prototypes that use LLMs to generate runbooks, health-check reports and troubleshooting guides.
• •Help create AI assistants that search internal documentation and past incidents.
• •Write reusable prompts, templates and how-to guides, and run short demos to help colleagues adopt AI.
• •Track and report the time saved and quality gained from using AI on real work.

Infrastructure and cloud

• •Support the build, configuration and maintenance of Linux and Windows servers, databases, and virtual or cloud environments (Azure, AWS).
• •Automate repetitive tasks with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
• •Assist with monitoring, performance testing, backups and disaster-recovery exercises.
• •Help prepare technical documentation, diagrams and reports for customers.

IT security

• •Assist with security hardening, patching and vulnerability scanning.
• •Support access control, certificate management and secure remote access.
• •Help define safe-use guidelines for AI tools in IT operations, including data privacy and access controls.

Qualifications and skills

Required

• •Recent Degree or Diploma in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems, Networking or Cybersecurity.
• •Basic knowledge of Linux and/or Windows administration, and of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls).
• •Basic scripting ability (Python, PowerShell or Bash).
• •Regular, practical use of AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) in study or personal projects.
• •Curiosity, a problem-solving mindset, and confidence working with colleagues and customers.
• •Good written and verbal communication in English.

Advantageous

• •A project applying AI or automation to IT operations, security or cloud (final-year project, home lab or GitHub).
• •Entry-level certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900), Azure AI Fundamentals (AI-900) or AWS Cloud Practitioner.
• •Interest in cybersecurity shown through labs or capture-the-flag (CTF) challenges.
