About the Role

As Technician in Charge, you’ll help lead the shop’s maintenance operation while remaining hands-on with the work. You’ll oversee preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, technician development, and day-to-day shop operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing complex vehicle diagnostics and repairs and performing road tests as required
  • Maintaining advanced knowledge of engines, emissions, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical, and HVAC systems
  • Leading and supporting shop technicians through daily huddles, training, performance evaluations, and hiring support
  • Managing inventory, approving expenses within your scope, and scheduling fleet maintenance
  • Conducting inspections and ensuring vehicles and maintenance practices meet applicable safety and regulatory requirements
  • Working closely with management on fleet status, budgets, and special projects
  • Participating in the ASE certification program
  • Performing hands-on maintenance and repair work when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of diesel or automotive maintenance and repair experience , or technical school education
  • Previous experience as a lead technician, supervisor, or manager is preferred
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Strong computer skills
  • Own mechanic’s tool set
  • Ability to successfully complete a background check
