Transportation Dispatcher

Northdale Oil Inc. is hiring a Dispatcher to join our transportation team.

We’re looking for a dependable, organized, and motivated individual who can work in a fast-paced environment and help coordinate the daily movement of our fuel delivery fleet.

Our dispatch team manages the movement of gasoline, diesel, DEF, and propane while coordinating drivers, customers, product availability, equipment, and changing delivery needs throughout the day.

Responsibilities

• •Coordinate and dispatch fuel deliveries to customers
• •Communicate with drivers regarding loads, routes, schedules, and changes
• •Monitor delivery progress and help keep loads running on schedule
• •Coordinate with customers regarding deliveries and changing needs
• •Verify product availability and assist with load planning
• •Respond to driver call-ins, equipment problems, delays, and other unexpected issues
• •Work with drivers and management to solve problems quickly and safely
• •Maintain accurate dispatch information and records
• •Help ensure operations remain compliant with company policies and DOT requirements
• •Assist the transportation team wherever needed to keep daily operations moving

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

The right person doesn’t necessarily need previous fuel-dispatch experience. We’re looking for someone who can think, communicate, prioritize, and stay calm when things don’t go according to plan.

Ideal candidates will have:

• •Strong communication and organizational skills
• •Good computer skills and the ability to learn new software
• •The ability to manage multiple priorities at the same time
• •Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• •Attention to detail
• •Dependability and a strong work ethic
• •The ability to communicate professionally with drivers, customers, and coworkers
• •Transportation, trucking, logistics, dispatch, or petroleum experience is a plus

What This Job Is Really Like

Fuel transportation doesn’t always follow the plan. Deliveries change, customers need product, drivers run into problems, equipment breaks down, and priorities can shift quickly.

A successful dispatcher needs to be able to look at the entire operation, determine what needs attention first, and make good decisions without losing track of everything else.
