Utility Operator I

UTILITY OPERATOR

Primary Function :

Employee will be assigned to Water Truck and sweeper. Employees will be hired at Utility Operator I and participate in a structured development program designed to progress to Utility Operator II and III responsibilities. Advancement is based on successful completion of required training, demonstrated proficiency, performance, and business needs. This position is primarily assigned to the evening shift, with schedules and hours subject to change to meet operational and business requirements. Employees will complete other duties as assigned.

Materials:

Metalac products, scrap,supplies, dirt, trash, etc.

Source of Supervision: Supervisor

Direction Exercise: None

Primary Function:

This position is primarily assigned to the evening shift , with schedules and hours subject to change to meet operational and business requirements.

1. Follows standard operating procedures.

2. Personally observe safety rules and regulations and motivates others to maintain a safe work environment.

3. Supports department production through flexibility assignments as needed.

4. Performs the duties of the position(s) to which employee is assigned.

5. Cleans and operates machinery as required. Maintains orderly work areas.

6. Operates and lubricates moving parts on mobile equipment, refuel mobile equipment

7. Demonstrates, through actions, a commitment to the philosophy of continuous improvement, problem solving and teamwork in all aspects of performance.

8. Supports and assists all levels of management within the organization in achieving goals and objectives.

9. Performs other duties and completes special assignments as required by supervision.
