Casual Events Assistant

Centre City Shopping Centre | New Plymouth

Casual Position

Centre City Shopping Centre is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Casual Events Assistant to support the delivery of marketing campaigns, community events, promotions, and centre activations throughout the year.

This hands-on role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is looking for flexible casual work within a dynamic retail setting.

About the Role

Working alongside the Marketing Manager, you will assist with the planning and delivery of events and promotional activities that enhance the customer experience and drive engagement within the centre.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with the set-up and pack-down of events, displays, and promotional activities

Providing exceptional customer service during events and centre activations

Supporting the delivery of marketing campaigns and community initiatives

Assisting with retailer and supplier communications where required

Helping maintain presentation standards across event and promotional areas

Capturing content for social media and marketing purposes

Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with health and safety requirements

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to get involved

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Confidence engaging with customers, retailers, and suppliers

The ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Flexibility to work weekends, school holidays, evenings, and public holidays as required

Previous experience in events, hospitality, retail, customer service, or marketing would be an advantage, but is not essential.
