Summary

Duties
- You will perform or advise on work in any of the phases or systems of budget administration.
- You will develop, determine and interpret budgetary policies and practices.
- You will analyze and recommend costs and benefits of alternative methods of financial management of the organization's programs and administrative operations.
- You will implement legal and regulatory controls over approved budgets and provide advice on methods of acquisition and use of funds to support organization.
Qualifications
GS -09 :Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Utilizing budget formulation and execution by compiling financial data, reviewing funding requests, and tracking obligations and expenditures using established procedures to support accurate budget estimates and proper use of authorized funds. GS-11: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Performing financial management work utilizing financial management systems to budget and execute funding in accordance with regulations (Examples of work performed may include generating funding documents, reviewing and approving procurement actions in accordance with regulations, generating budgets and related execution plans, and/or providing management funds status updates and recommendations) Additional qualification information can be found from the following Office of Personnel Management website:Financial Administration and Program Series 0501 Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
Education
For GS-09 : Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree OR Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree OR LL.B. or J.D., if related to the position being filled : https://www.usajobs.gov/Help/working-in-government/unique-hiring-paths/students/federal-occupations-by-college-major/ OR A combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. For GS-11: Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree OR 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to PH.
